2025.06.11New supercomputer system is ranked in TOP500
The new supercomputer system “Grand Chariot 2”, introduced in April 2025 and scheduled to begin full operation in July 2025, has been ranked 264th (27th in Japan) on the TOP500 list, which ranks the sites operating the 500 most powerful computer systems worldwide. The ranking was announced on June 10 (local time) during the “ISC High Performance 2025” conference held in Hamburg, Germany.
The performance result listed on the TOP500 was measured using only the GPU nodes of the system.
However, the system also includes the 480 CPU nodes, which support a wide range of applications, including those that were run on the previous system, “Grand Chariot”.
Together, the GPU and CPU nodes provide powerful and comprehensive computational resources.
